Brighten things up with a few glittery branches! This is a quick decorative piece that easily adds a lot of pizzaz.
You’ll need: Tree branches, silver or gold spray paint, silver or gold glitter, white glue, spray glue, a paintbrush, Epsom salt, a cookie sheet or a large sheet of paper
Step 1: Select branches that fit into the area you are looking to decorate. Then, take a pair of scissors and shape the branches to your liking.
Step 2: Spray the spray paint over the branches, covering them completely. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 3: Once dry, cover the branches with spray glue. (Spray one at a time, only spraying the branch that you are currently working on.)
Step 4: Place the cookie sheet onto a flat surface and hold the branch over it. Then, sprinkle the glitter over it. (You can reuse the glitter that falls onto the cookie sheet.)
Step 5: Take the white glue and use the paintbrush to spread the glue in select areas so that it appears like ice or snow on the branch.
Step 6: Stick the Epsom salts onto the branch and allow it to dry completely.
Since we’re already working with glitter, consider trying this Christmas decor idea to make use of the rest of your glitter sprinkles.
You’ll need: a printout of a picture of your choice, a canvas, scissors, a pencil, glitter, a foam brush or bristle brush, tape, Elmer’s glue
Step 1: Cut out the printout and tape it to the canvas to keep it in place.
Step 2: Trace an outline of the cutout onto the canvas.
Step 3: Take the foam brush or bristle brush and carefully paint glue on the inside of the traced lines.
Step 4: Sprinkle glitter on top of the glue.
Step 5: Clean up the lines with glue and sprinkle with more glitter. Then, allow your glitter picture to dry completely.
Decorate your Christmas tree with DIY ornaments this year! This decor idea takes very little time, and you only need a few items. Plus, it’s a great activity to do with the kids.
You’ll need: Christmas ornaments, paint, glue, and additional decorative items (buttons, glitter, ribbons, etc.)
Step 1: Put paint onto the ornament. You can use a paintbrush to make a decorative design, or even put paint on your hand and place a handprint on the ornament. (This is a good idea if you’d like to get the kids involved).
Step 2: Use the glue to place the additional decorative items over the ornament. Then, allow it to dry and hang it on your Christmas tree!
