There is something about seeing an artist live that gives you a new appreciation for their music when you listen to it later. Now, instead of simply appreciating the sounds and melodies at face value, you’ll have a thrilling memory to tie the music back to. Not only that, but often at concerts you’ll hear the singer speak and give you some history on the album, as well as make a personal connection with the audience.
You can experience all of the magic of a live music show this Sunday evening at Manci’s Antique Club.
See The Krickets – Live
While Manci’s Antique Club is home to many musicians and performers, there is one group in particular that you don’t want to miss seeing. Female swamp-folk band The Krickets is taking the stage on Sunday, January 28 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cover charge for this performance is $10.
If you’ve never heard of The Krickets, you’ll be glad that you learned about them now. The band just released its debut album and has reached the #1 spot on Amazon’s Hot New Releases and Folk Releases chart. All four members are singer-songwriters, but they didn’t unite until the got together to play a charity show for Sacred Heart Hospital’s “Cricket Fund.” The concert helped to fund mammograms for uninsured persons in the area. Naturally, they realized how well they vibed off one another, and thus The Krickets formed.
It helps that the group’s debut album, Spanish Moss Sirens, was produced by Alabama Shakes’ Ben Tanner. You’ve likely heard of the Alabama Shakes group, as it has received national fame and recognition, even winning a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance. The group played at Birmingham’s Sloss Fest last year. It’s clear that The Krickets are headed down a similar path.
Visiting Manci’s Antique Club
